Introduction to The Believer’s Daily Prayer

Here is a prayer you can pray every day. It has certainly changed my life!

The Believer’s Daily Prayer has been shaped around prayers, promises and principles found throughout Scripture. It is designed to help you begin each day with your heart turned towards God and your prayers firmly anchored in His Word.

The Believer’s Daily Prayer

My Father in heaven, holy is Your mighty name.

Let Your Kingdom come in my life, through my life, and upon this earth. Let Your will be done in me as it is in heaven. May my life bring honor to Your name and reveal Your Kingdom wherever You have placed me.

Father, I come before You as Your child, and I ask You to bless me greatly. Enlarge my capacity to carry what You entrust to me. Supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory and make me a blessing to others. Increase my influence for Your purposes, establish the work of my hands, and teach me to live as a royal priesthood—representing You faithfully before people and carrying people faithfully before You.

ABBA, let Your presence rest mightily upon me. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Give me wisdom, discernment, courage, strength and grace for everything You have called me to do today. Order my steps, guide my decisions, guard my heart, and let my words and actions bring glory to You.

PAPA, forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Search my heart and reveal anything in me that does not please You. Help me to repent quickly, walk humbly, and extend to others the same mercy and forgiveness You have so freely given to me.

Father, lead me away from temptation and deliver me from the evil one. Keep me from unnecessary trouble, foolish decisions and paths that would draw me away from You. When I must walk through difficult places, strengthen my faith and remind me that You are with me. Be my refuge, my defender and my deliverer.

Protect me and my household. Heal us from all diseases. Surround us with Your favor, establish Your peace within our home, and let no plan of the enemy prosper against what You have purposed for us.

Lord, keep me from causing You or others unnecessary pain or sorrow. Set a guard over my mouth. Keep my heart free from pride, bitterness, offence, jealousy and selfish ambition. Help me to love well, serve faithfully, walk justly, show mercy and remain humble before You.

Give me this day what I need for this day. Teach me not to be anxious about tomorrow, but to trust You completely. May I recognize Your provision, obey Your voice, steward faithfully what You place in my hands, and never forget that everything I have comes from You.

Father, use my life for Your glory. Let Your goodness be seen through me, Your love flow through me, Your truth be spoken through me, and Your power work through me. Make me fruitful in every good work and faithful to Jesus until the end.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever.

In the mighty name of Jesus,

Amen.

I first wrote this prayer about 25 years ago as part of my book 'THE CHRISTIAN LIFESTYLE'. Drawn from prayers in Matthew 6:9–13, 1 Chronicles 4:10, Philippians 4:19, 1 Peter 2:9, Psalm 139:23–24, Psalm 141:3, James 1:5, Ephesians 5:18, Micah 6:8, Matthew 6:34, and Colossians 1:10

Prayer is more than presenting God with a list of our needs; it is the privilege of drawing near to our Father, aligning our hearts with His will, and inviting His presence and purposes into every part of our lives.

Here is a prayer you can pray every day. Pray it slowly. Pray it personally. Allow the words to become more than something you simply recite. Pray this prayer with faith, make its words your own, and trust Him with everything that follows.

My prayer is that as you make this part of your daily walk with God, it will strengthen your faith, deepen your relationship with Him, and help keep your prayer life biblically focused.
